CBC seems to be getting their act together. Give Rick Mercer a show, check. Give George Stroumboulopoulos a show, check.

George's show, The Hour, seems like a really neat way of tackling "the news". Its rough around the edges and real, kind of roughshod in his usual way.

What I really like about it is that it doesn't seem to make any effort to glaze over the truth, or to hesitate when it comes to tackling unconventional subjects that the mainstream media doesn't seem to want to touch...just off the top of my head there's a clip on the website about North Korea, and how the world is turning its back on the country when really we should be reaching out to them, and that really if they end up doing something crazy its because we've forced them so far into the corner. There's also a really interesting interview with the guy that organized BandAid and LiveAid way back when, about how its good and great that we're all so concerned with the Tsunami victims, but that we don't seem to have a problem constantly turning a blind eye to the brutal realities in Africa.

I think what makes me proudest of the whole thing is that this is OUR tv station(atleast to a certain extent)...I mean, its government tv. And its one of the few stations/shows that has the balls to tackle things head on.

The website has lots of clips
