Here's the bloghood.
Been home in ottawa for a goodly while now. And frankly, I really haven't done all that much. Most days are spent biking...no really, I've been biking on the order of 3-5 hours a day. I in fact just got back from my longest ride thus far(distance wise)...out to Carleton Place and back. Just under 100km. Went really well...except it rained the entire ride back, so i was DRENCHED from head to toe by the time i was home. The contingency plan in this kind of situation on the trip is that richard + car = dry.
I've bought two bikes since getting home. long story short, someone stole my "old" bike from my garage. However, the new Rocky Mountain is stellar.
Hopefully tomorrow Channer and I will get out riding in Gatineau. Speaking of Gatineau, i went on a frog hunt yesterday. Kind of. The Friends of Gatineau Park host all these different events on a weekly or so basis...more or less an info session of sorts with pictures and handy info about a specific type of creature: wolves, owls, migratory birds, insects and in the case of last night, frogs and salimanders. Then, you go out into the park with the interpreter and check out the actual species in action! So last night there were about 30 people at this thing, and we saw spring peepers, and north american toads(as well as a beaver, some bats, and lots of different kinds of birds)...but the best park was actually seeing/touching a big blob of salimander eggs. SUPER FUN...would recommend anyone in ottawa check it out.
I'll be leaving for the trip in a week and a half or so. Richard is home soon, and that's when trip planning will ramp up into overdrive.
Hope everyone's having fun with their respective ventures!
