they go under bushes and into holes in trees and stuff. that's why you never see them lying around. they know their time is coming and they go hide themselves. or that's what my mom says anyway.

kind of like when cats and stuff give birth maybe?
 

ooh, that's a really good answer. and then maybe some other animal comes and eats them so there's no decaying smell or waste. interesting.
