Isn't It a Shame?

Three things:

i) I had a totally new experience today. I was sitting in Quiznos with Laura and this dude walked in. He went into the bathroom, then came out. The place was basically empty, so I was amusing myself by watching him. He went up to the cash and looked around(the staff guy was busy cleaning something up away from the cash), and put a cookie in his pocket. Then he went and said something to the staff guy, and walked out of the store. I really didn't know what to do...has anyone else ever seen someone steal something? What would you have done? This was a big sketchy looking guy...I dind't really think that it was advisable for me to make a scene about it since he might well have waited around then kicked the crap out of me on the street...I feel strangely violated by the whole thing.

ii) I think our kids are going to have such a different experience than us - not only in terms of technology(internet, ipods, etc) but also in terms of food. "Golden" Oreos, cherry flavoured oranges and orange flavoured cherries.

iii) Is it true that Alberta is planning on eliminating their personal income taxes next year? They already have no sales taxes....
