Halifax was good

The wedding in Halifax was fun last weekend!

The weather was suboptimal...rained almost the whole weekend, but that didn't stop us Roderick's from having fun! My mom/dad/sister/nephew were all there, which was the first time in atleast a year we'd all been in the same place at the same time!

Marcy just recently found out that she is being stationed in Halifax starting next year, so she was looking for houses, which was a little weird.

As always, there was fantastic seafood...I had the best mussel I've ever had...we were at a farmers market, and these mussels had been harvested the night before...it was SO big and juicy and succulent. Yay for fresh food.

Umm...yes. Canada Day...still really hoping to come home, probably tomorrow morning...the train is nutty expensive( > $250 ). This is what happens when you're no longer a student. Laura and I might rent a car....but that option is looking pretty expensive too unfortunately.

In the future I think I need to get alison to buy me tickets at student prices. I may no longer be a student, but I still KNOW students!

Halifax!

I'm off to Halifax for the weekend! My cousin is getting married, so the whole roderick crowd will be there! Marcy and Nelson(my nephew!) will be there. The parentals are at the cottage for the next bit, and will be there too! Oh the excitement! Laura and I are staying in a MANSION! No, seriously. It's called Sterns Mansion

I also need to get train tickets to hit ottawa next weekend.

Carrot update: most of my carrots are dead/daying due to a number of unfortunate accidents. However a select number are doing quite well. I really hope I'm actually able to atleast eat ONE carrot when all this is done.

What is the point of it all?

I woke up this morning planning on blogging first thing - I have some sad news to share.

Then I read Simon's back to back to back bloggings on "What is the point of it all?" - which really made me look in the mirror and think hard about things.

Truly...

On my way to bed last night I accidentally knocked my waterbottle over into my carrot garden, mercilessly crushing almost a third of the inhabitants. The destruction was total - these poor young plants, just budding - reaching their best years, wiped out of existance in a flash.

Woe is me. Truly, what is the point?

FREE STUFF!

You all know how much I love free stuff....I live and breathe free stuff. All the rest of you at least "like" free stuff though I'm sure, which is why you'll owe me one for telling you about this!

I saw an ad for this on tv and tried it out - both Laura and I got our freebie in the mail this week! Free Electrasol 3-in-1...and not like some small trial pack - but a full fledged box of detergent packs - 15 loads worth!

Man, I LOVE FREE STUFF!
